Massiah Hoard
Urban Farming Manager and Hydroponics Instructor
Massiah Hoard is a plant science and regenerative agriculture professional dedicated to building sustainable food systems and strengthening communities through urban farming. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Plant Science/Agronomy from University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and a Master’s degree in Regenerative Organic Agriculture from Maharishi International University.
Massiah has grown and distributed over 6,000 pounds of fresh produce to community members, demonstrating a strong commitment to food access, sustainability, and community wellness. She currently serves as a Second Lieutenant in the Michigan Army National Guard, where she brings leadership, discipline, and a service-oriented mindset to her work.
Originally from Michigan, Massiah is passionate about becoming a steward of the land by developing sustainable urban farming systems in Chicago. Her mission is to provide communities with access to high-quality food, practical agricultural education, and meaningful experiences that promote healthy living.
Known for being highly organized, persistent, hardworking, and results-driven, Massiah is a strong communicator with an inquisitive mindset and a deep commitment to continuous learning and impact.
